Graveside services for Alfred R. Chatelle, age 93, who passed away July 2, 2021 in Prescott Valley, Az. will be held on Friday 7-9-21 at 10:00 at Morristown Cemetery. Alfred was born in Moosup, Ct on March 31, 1928. He was the son of the late Joseph M and Ada M. (Crompton) Chatelle. He dropped out of high school to marry Helen Reeves on July 9, 1946 and join the Merchant Marines. Upon returning from the Merchant marines, he worked various construction jobs, and began building Maple Root Trailer park in Coventry RI. He and his wife raised their 4 children while owning and expanding the park. In 1973 they sold the park and moved to Morristown AZ to start the next chapter of their life. Together they built Western Trails Ranch in Morristown. Alfred and Helen would spend the summers with their family in Coventry RI, and the rest of the year in Morristown. Al enjoyed politics, on both the local and national levels. He enjoyed being a behind the scenes advisor to President Ronald Reagan, and Congressman Jim Langevin. On February 19, 2010 Helen Chatelle passed away. Alfred sold Western Trails Ranch and spent the last 10 years of his life in Prescott Valley with his companion Loretta Saeli. Alfred is the father of 4 children, the late Steven Chatelle of Coventry, RI and is survived by three Children: Alfred Chatelle Jr. and his wife( Sandra) of Coventry, RI. Linda Picchioni of Bellingham, Mass., Russell Chatelle of Coventry, RI. Grandchildren: Scott and Jared Chatelle, Jeffrey, Michael, Larissa Picchioni. And 7 great-grandchildren.
