Antony Freed

Antony Marcellus Freed, age 86, passed away July 12, 2012 in Surprise, Arizona. Mr. Freed was born in St. Albans, Herefordshire, England to Thomas and Annnie Freed. He served in the British Military in the Royal Engineers from 1943 to 1952. He came to the United States in 1963 living in Massachussetts where he worked as a Department Store Manager for Newberry's. He later moved to Santa Barbara, California where he worked in painting and interior design. Upon retiring he moved to Wickenburg, Az. in 1989. He was very active at the Wise Owl Senior Center and attended St. Alban's Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife Maureen of Wickenburg and daughters Susan McGinty of Lompoc, CA and Kathleen Maes of Wickenburg and grandchildren: Ryan, Sean, Matthew, Grace, Xavier and Michael. He was preceded in death by brother Ivor and sisters Mimi and Diane. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Alban's Episcopal Church at 357 W. Yavapai St. Wickenburg, AZ Family suggests memorials in Antony's name be made to Hospice of the Valley, St. Alban's Episcopal Church or the Wise Owl Senior Center.
