Ava Hamilton

Ava Hines Hamilton, age 61, passed away September 12, 2013 at her home in Morristown. Ava was born December 14, 1951 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Verle & Joyce Hines. She was raised there and attended schools there. Following high school she moved to Florida and in the late 70's to Colorado to the Boulder area, where she met and married Gill Hamilton in 1981. They had 2 daughters Dana and Cassandra. Ava has worked primarily in the hotel industry which she did in Colorado and later in New Mexico when they moved the Albuquerque for Gill's work. Ava and Gill came to Arizona in the 1990's settling in Peeples Valley. Ava has lived in Morristown most recently. She has worked at Stewart's Hardware Store and also operated a home cleaning service. Ava enjoyed poetry and years earlier had written several poems and was even published. The highlight of Ava's life was her family, being a mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her sister Beth. She is survived by her mother Joyce Hines of Michigan and daughters Dana (Greg) Torrens of Wickenburg and Cassandra (Blake) Dalley of Wickenburg, former husband Gill Hamilton of Wickenburg and brothers Ron and Rick and a sister Carol all of Michigan, grandchildren: Ash Hamilton, Kylee Moore & Liyra Torrens. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Wickenburg Funeral Home.
