1935 - 2023







Dale was born in Sikeston, MO, on November 10, 1935 to Cecil and Margaret (Hamilton) Joyce and was the younger brother of William R. "Bill" Joyce. He graduated from Sikeston High School in 1953, then went to college at Southeast Missouri State University at Cape Girardeau on a football scholarship until 1954 when he joined the U.S. Marine Corp and served from 1954 - 1956, followed by work for Douglas Aircraft from 1956 - 1958, and then finished his college education at Southeast Missouri in 1968 with a BS/BA degree.



Dale worked for Sears Roebuck Management Program 1960 - 1974 in Santa Ana, CA and Orange, California. He met and married Niyla Alyin Nemetz and spent 55 years with her until her death in February of 2019. Dale and Niyla moved from Costa Mesa, CA, to Wickenburg, AZ in 1976, where they purchased Prince's Stationers that same year, renamed to store Stage Stop Stationers and operated it until 1983 when they sold it.



Dale took up a new career in banking with Community Bank of Arizona (UMB) from 1985 until his retirement in 2000 as Senior Vice President of Operations and Cashier.



Dale served on the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors 1977 - 1979 and was past president and building director of the Desert Caballeros Museum. He was a member of the Los Caballeros Golf Club from 1980 - 2008 and served as it's Vice President from 1983 - 1984. Dale was a member of the Desert Caballeros Trail Ride since 1976 and was the El Presidente 1988 - 1989.



Dale is survived by his sister in law Jean Joyce, niece Robin Schemkes(Randy) and nephew David Joyce (Patty).
