David was born in Stratford, Texas to Edward D. Cook and Violet McClure Cook. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1939 to 1945. Following his service in the military he moved to California. He married Zella Kelley in 1963. David worked in Highway construction and manufacturing of highway construction equipment. In 1990 he and Zella came to Wickenburg. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zella in 2006 and a daughter Maxine Dawson in 1998 as well as a sister, Calra Mae Lindsay. He is survived by sons Ronald E. Cook of Erie, PA and Donald Dean Cook of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and step-children Jeanie Bishop (Russ) of Wickenburg and Herman Anspaw of Wichita, KS. Sisters Ruth Goodyear of Ohio and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
