Denise Maggs

December 31, 1953 — September 19, 2020

On Saturday, September 19, 2020, Denise Maggs, passed away at the age of 66 at her home in Congress, Arizona. Denise was born December 31, 1953, in Evergreen Park Illinois to Cyril Strezo and Cora (Miedema) Strezo. One of six children, she was the typical ornery middle child, that was still friends with everyone. She attended Worth grammar school and Richards high school, being one that never settled she went through beauty school and then later got her CNA, working in many different roles throughout her career days. She married the love of her life in 1980 and raised their two children Bobbette and DJ (Donald). They moved to the great state of Arizona in 1985, briefly moving back to Illinois, it didn't take them long to realize that Congress Arizona was home. Denise and Rusty spent the last 40 Years "bickering," watching grandbabies and even great-grandbabies laugh and grow. Denise was that that beautiful, loving wife that you aspire to have in your relationship, she was that mom that loves and was there for you no matter what, she was that grandma that spoiled her grandkids rotten, (at least until the great-grandbabies came along,) She was the woman that would invite anyone into her home and say "help yourself to the pantry and there is food in the fridge," she made everyone feel at home. Denise lived an amazing, joy-filled life and will be greatly missed by all who had the great pleasure of meeting her.Denise is preceded in death by parents; Cyril Strezo, Cora (Miedema) Strezo, brothers; Larry and Cy (Cyril) Strezo, son DJ (Donald) Maggs, and Son-in-law Robert Moralez Sr. Denise is survived by husband Rusty Maggs, Daughters Bobbette (Maggs) Moralez, and Teresa (Brad) Troutman, Sisters; Donna (Strezo) Duvall, and Karen (Strezo) McCreedy, Brother Russel Strezo, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with interment to follow in the Congress Cemetery.
