Ed Wade was born in Spearville, Kansas on September 30, 1947 to Jack & Louise Wade.
He grew up in the Kansas City area and in Russellville, Arkansas, graduating from Russellville High School in 1965. He served a "kiddie cruise" in the U.S. Navy, being honorably discharged just before his 21st birthday.
He worked for Wells Fargo Alarm Systems in Omaha, Nebraska and Arkansas Nuclear One in Russellville, Arkansas.
He met and married Barbara Best in 1980 while both worked at ANO. They quit work and "retired" to Wickenburg in 1995 where he worked various jobs and was always available to help someone when needed.
He enjoyed playing the guitar for special music at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg where he was active, working the sound system for years, serving in various Church offices and was currently and Elder. He was active in emergency communications and had been a member of Yavapai County Search and Rescue.
He also learned to play the piano in retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ann and one granddaughter, Alisha.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Aaron of Wickenburg, daughter Kristy of Somerset, Kentucky, brother Terry, sisters: Virginia (Troy) Chandler, Lynn (Donnie) Sims, Tammy (Bill) Laymon all of Russellville, Arkansas and Sharon (Danny)Waldo of Ozone, Arkansas, 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and lots of friends who will miss him. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wickenburg, AZ , Hospice of the Valley or Norton Thoracic Institute at St. Joe's Hospital in Phoenix.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 450 Rose Lane in Wickenburg.
