Elizabeth Hershkowitz

Wickenburg Native, Elizabeth Hershkowitz, age 90, passed away October 9th in her home of more than 40 years. Elizabeth was born April 9th, 1921 in Wickenburg, AZ to Louis and Lala Davis. Elizabeth met and married Harry Hershkowitz in 1939. They resided in Wickenburg where they raised their 3 children, Louis, Leonard, and Karen. Elizabeth, known as Liz to family and friends, worked at the Texas Cafe while her kids were young and later at the Wickenburg Pharmacy for 23 years. Liz retired early in order to stay home and care for her husband who suffered the effects of kidney failure. Liz loved gardening and cooking. She was outstanding at both. Her home located across from Coffinger Park has always had one of the prettiest yards in town. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Lala Davis, husband Harry Hershkowitz, sons Harry Louis & Albert Leonard Hershkowitz, grandson Michael Lund, and son-in-law Jack Lund. She is survived by her daughter Karen Lund, daughters-in-law Mary Hershkowitz & Peggy Hershkowitz, granddaughters: Lisa Wilson, Wendy (Casey) Wright, Lisa (Rodney) Frauscht, Kimberly Lund, Traci Hershkowitz and grandsons Kevin (Karen) Hershkowitz, Michael (Shannon) Hershkowitz along with 14 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 15th, at 10:00 AM at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Friends and famly are invited to the home of Casey and Wendy Wright for a time of celebration and remembrance immediately following the service at 2350 Val Vista Dr. in Wickenburg.
