Ernest Edward McCollum was born August 11,1946 in Winslow, AZ to Kenneth and Madeline McCollum. He passed away July 15, 2021 at his home in Morristown. Ernest is survived by his wife, Bernadine to whom he was married 50 years, sons John and Brandon, sister Nancy Eavenson (Greg), and step-sisters Mary Kline (Bobby) and Ann Schaar (Don) and several nieces and nephews. His brother Ken (Mae) preceded him in death.
Ernest was a strong believer in patriotism. He served as Master Councilor for DeMolay, Jr. Vice at the Keller Draper American Legion Post #12, Precinct Committeeman and in the U.S. Navy assigned to VA-125 based out of CA.
Ernest spent his career in the building trades but always pursued his passion for cooking and sharing his tasty dishes with others. He won several people's choice chili cookoff awards.
