Ethel P. Wright, age 90, passed away February 9, 2013 surrounded by her family at her home in Wickenburg. She was born February 23, 1922 in Perth Amboy, New Jersery to Bertel Peterson and Johanna Nielsen Petersen. Ethel attended Perth Amboy High School graduating with the Class of 1939. She married John Wright June 24, 1945 and shortly thereafter they moved to Arizona settling in Wickenburg. Ethel was very active in the community. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and also a 62 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 59 serving as secretary for 25 years and Worthy Matron both in 1959 and 1976 as well as holding State offices in the organization. She was active in Girl Scouts, Brownies & Rainbow Girls and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Ethel also served on the Wickenburg Public Library Board of Trustees for over 20 years as was a member of the Wickenburg Library Society. She was recognized for her community service receiving the "Henry Award" in 2003. She had worked as a secretary for the Wickenburg School District for years. Ethel really enjoyed traveling and had visited every State in the Union as well as many other countries. She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Wright and a brother Svend Petersen and sister Gene Wright and nephews Wayne Wright and Donald Petersen. She is survived by children Virginia (Kent) Peck of Thatcher, Arizona and John M. Wright of Prescott Valley, Arizona. and brother & sister in law John & Shirley Petersen of Perth Amboy, NJ. Grandchildren: Todd Wright, Jarrod Lish, Justin Frazier, Josie Minton, Jonathon Wright, Jeramy Wright, Eric Vanderbloemen, Ian Vanderbloemen and Aaron Peck and 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial contributions in Ethel's memory be made to the Wickenburg Library Society P.O. Box 2501 Wickenburg, AZ 85358. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg.
