Fran was born November 20, 1941 in Blythe, California to Edgar L. Vertrees and Mary Lovina Bruckner Vertrees. She was raised in Blythe and attended schools there. Following high school Fran attended beauty school and was a licensed in beautician. She married Robert Walker in December 9, 1961 in El Paso, TX after they married they had lived in various locations with Bob working construction. They moved to Prescott in 1967 with Bob working for the county and Fran working as a letter carrier for the post office in Chino Valley and later she and Bob worked ranching in the Skull Valley area. They settled in Yarnell in 1989. Fran had worked as a substitute teacher in Yarnell. She and Bob had worked together in their family business Walker Excavating for several years. Fran was a licensed contractor. She enjoyed drag racing at Speed World and had won several times. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and was an excellent gardener. The thing in life that Fran enjoyed the most was her family and being a grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edgar "Butch" Vertrees. Fran is survived by her husband, Bob of Yarnell and Son & Daughter in law, Danny & Tammie Walker also of Yarnell and Daughter & Son in law, Diana and Dallas Johnson of Wickenburg. Sister Mary Ann Ogden (Roy) of Yarnell. Grandsons: Hunter, Colton, & Tanner Walker of Yarnell and Ryan & Chad Johnson of Wickenburg.
