Frederick W. Babcock lived a fulfilling life and peacefully went to be with God on Dec. 15, 2012 in Wickenburg, AZ at the age of 96. He was born to Louis and Goldie on November 17, 1916 in Fort Scott, Kansas. He enlisted in the Army in July 1941 and completed his tour of duties with the Air Force in Jan. 1953. Fred and Othel met in school growing up and they were married on April 4, 1943 in Tulsa, OK. He was a skilled photographer and opened "BB Photo" with his friend Sabin Brown in 1950. Fred used his photography talents to photograph local guest ranches in Wickenburg and horse races all over the country. He was well known around Wickenburg and made portraits of students and families all over town. Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking for his family; oyster stew and chocolate popcorn were among his specialties. Fred was preceded in death by his first son Terry, first wife Othel, granddaughter Stephanie and second wife Gertrude. Fred is survived by his children Rex & Terri Babcock, Ray Babcock, and Randy & Aquina Babcock; his grandchildren Andra Babcock, Sarah & Jerome Vinagro, Erica & Jaise Koester, Scott & Sally Drescher, BJ Babcock, Kendra Babcock and Alex & Katie Babcock; and his great-grandchildren Cade, Blake & Emma Mooney; Evan, Luke & Lola Drescher; Ellie & Mason Koester, Koby Babcock, and Grace Vinagro. A private family memorial service was held on Sunday, December 16, 2012 in his loving memory.
