Gerald "Jerry" Carne of Wickenburg, Arizona formerly of Fallbrook, California received his eternal reward on August 13, 2016. Jerry was born in Newman Grove, Nebraska on December 3, 1917, oldest of six children of Douglas and Hazel Carne. He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a B.S. degree in physics and from the Illinois Institute of Technology with an M.S. degree in physics. He spent his entire professional career employed by RCA, and during World War II, he assisted in the development of radar for the U. S. Defense Department. After his retirement from RCA, Jerry grew avocados and grapefruit commercially on his grove in Fallbrook. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church.\nJerry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and George, two sisters, Rosella Safranek and Ethel Lux, and his wife Barbara "Bobbie" to whom he was married for 67 years. Jerry is survived by his sister, Bethel McCoy, two sons, one daughter, and their spouses, Douglas and Patti Carne of Clarksville, Virginia, Thomas and Joyce Carne of Bozeman, Montana, and Leslie and Alan Prough of Wickenburg, Arizona. He is also survived by six grandsons and their spouses, Douglas and Monique Carne, Robert and Deanna Carne, Steven and Allegra Carne, Peter Carne, Trevor and Marissa Prough, and Jeremiah Prough. Jerry was also blessed with 12 great grandchildren, Sierra Carne, Ryley Carne, Tristan Carne, Dakota Carne, Parker Carne, Anastasia Carne, Josiah Carne, Samaria Carne, Gideon Carne, Magdalene Carne, Ezekiel Carne, and Eden Carne.\nJerry will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. One day his family will be together again with him and our precious Savior, Jesus Christ.
