Ginger Fitzgerald

October 14, 1955 — June 28, 2022

Ginger Diane Fitzgerald was born on October 14, 1955 in Susanville, California to Bob and Garnie Pinneo. She was called to Heaven on June 28, 2022.

Ginger and her two siblings grew up in Litchfield, where they spent their time competing in horse shows and rodeos. Ginger was very competitive and loved team roping more than anything.

She attended Shaffer School, and then went on to graduate from Lassen High School with honors. She spent most of her career working in the school system. She retired in 2015 with 37 years of service with Cal PERS. Ginger was a very smart and highly respected businesswoman. She loved her career and was dedicated to doing her best at every job she had.

Ginger married Joe Fitzgerald on November 24, 1979. They raised three children - Bobby, Ross, and Katy, and they celebrated 40 years together. Their years were devoted to being very involved with their kids in rodeos, 4-H & FFA, and they team roped as much as they could. After the kids were grown and she and Joe both retired, they finally had time to devote all their time to team roping, and they absolutely loved it.

Ginger was caring, strong-willed, smart, loving, tough as nails, and was a very hard worker. She loved her family dearly and was a great friend to many people.

Ginger was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, father, Bob, mother, Garnie, and brother Rob.

She is survived by her children - Bobby, Ross (Jayme) and Katy (Juan); her four grandchildren, Braiden, Danni, Logan, and Tyler; her sister Ronda (Fred); her step granddaughter, Savanah; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ginger will be greatly missed. Her spunk, wittiness, laugh, wisdom, and her kind heart will be long remembered.

Joe and Ginger will be laid to rest together in a private family ceremony at Janesville Cemetery. A celebration of life to honor Ginger will be held on July 16, 2022 at 1:00 at Hugh and Cheri Blosser's residence. Tri tip and rolls will be provided, and side dishes would be appreciated.
