Gordon Lyle Hodgson, age 72, passed away on April 3rd with his close companion, Doris Sutton by his side. Gordon spent his early years in Longview, Washington. He went on many construction jobs where he traveled. He liked being physical, and using his strength and muscles. He also worked as a an assistant manager in resort cabin communities. He was one who always went above and beyond in his work. Some of his hobbies were classic cars, his first was a '57 Chevy over his lifetime he had about 100 cars in his collection. He liked car racing, with his favorite being NASCAR, and his favorite driver, Chase Elliott. He was able to see the race in November of 2020 and was able to meet Chase Elliott in person, Hospice of the West helped him realize that dream. Gordon told jokes often, he loved to make people laugh. He did a lot of walking for exercise anywhere from 1 to 5 miles and even further until he became ill with cancer. Gordon was a fine gentleman, He is now in a great place with no pain, we will meet him again and love him. Gordon is survived by his longtime companion, Doris Sutton, 3 sisters: Marylyn Wilson of Alaska, Dee Sperling of Washington and Lorraine Heald of California. A Celebration of Life for Gordon will be held on May 15th, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Country Club Park Community Center.
