Hayes Henderson passed peacefully at his home Friday, January 29, in Morristown, AZ.
Hayes served in the U.S. Army from December 17, 1966 to December 7, 1968 during Vietnam, receiving orders of Honorable Discharge in 1972.
Hayes received a Purple Heart, Award of the Army Commendation Medal for wounds he received and the Award of the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service Jan. 1968 thru November 1968. He served on the First Team, 1st Cavalry Division Air Mobile Artillery and Operation Freedom Bird Run to The Wall in 1992 and 1995.
After the Military, Hayes continued in the automotive trade, Alaska Pipeline and a Environmental Petroleum Engineer.
Hayes and wife enjoyed traveling, exploring and enjoying their time and seasons with family and close friends, both active with their local Post 12 Legion and the American Legion Riders in Wickenburg, AZ.
Hayes is survived by his wife, Sherrie Henderson and step-children Diane Butler, sister and husband and family, Tony Henderson, brother, wife and family.
Interment with Military Honors will be held on Friday, March 19th at 11:00 AM at Prescott National Cemetery.
