Jenny Geampa

February 14, 1923 — April 19, 2014

Vincenza "Jenny" Geampa was born in Buffalo, New York on Valentine's Day, 1923. She passed away peacefully at her son's home and entered heaven's gate on April 19, 2014. She is survived by her children Frank (Debbie), Nancy (Jim), Felice, Barbara and Jane (David). She was blessed by 17 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. Jenny grew up in Buffalo the oldest of six children and grew accustomed to getting her way. Jenny and her first husband Joe raised three children and built a trucking business. Later, they were blessed by two more kids. Upon the death of her husband, Jenny became the matriarch of her family. Looking for a new adventure, in 1974, Jenny and her second husband moved the family to a ten acre ranch complete with horses in Wickenburg, Arizona. She was soon able to convince even her older children make the move "out west." By the time she turned 81 she was ready for something new, and moved to a small house in Kearny, AZ. While there she made friends and was a regular at the senior center. Jenny enjoyed learning how to ride her horse, and would often have to remind her Mustang Butterscotch who was the boss. Going to Laughlin or Las Vegas to gamble and see her brothers was a favorite pastime. Later, she took to the local Arizona casinos. She enjoyed her TV. (TCM was her favorite as well as the game show network.) Shopping was always on the list of things to do. Jenny also liked watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, play in the band, act, cheer, or dance. She overcame many obstacles like facing rattlesnakes with just a shovel. With the help of her children, she battled cancer and won. She lived like she diedin her own wayon her own terms. Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 10 am in Wickenburg, Arizona on Friday, April 25. 2014. Please, in lieu of flowers make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
