Jesse Meier

November 17, 1930 — March 22, 2011

Jesse J. Meier age 80, passed away March 22, 2011 in Sun City West, Arizona. He was born Nov. 17, 1930 in Lusk, WY to Albert Meier and Jesse Teeter Meier. Jesse was raised in Keeline, WY on the family ranch. He began working at an early age, first in road construction and later in the oil fields as a roughneck and tool pusher. He was very close to his brother Ab and they worked together on many occasions. He worked for John Starner at Starner Fishing Tool and eventually acquired the company which he named Casper Fishing Tool and operated for years. Jesse also owned a cattle ranch in Meteetsee, WY. He said many times he'd rather be dead in Meteetsee, than alive anywhere else. He was a loyal member of the Elks Lodge #1353 in Casper for over 50 years. Jesse enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His second childhood included golf, flying ultra light aircraft and even a three wheeler motorcycle which he rode with his son Larry on many trips. He also attended many Elks fishing derbys. Jesse was preceded in death by his brother, Ab Meier and grandson, Brady Meier, who left us much to soon. He is survived by his first wife of 30 years and the mother of Mickey and Larry Meier; Naomi Burgess; his present wife of 26 years and the mother of Steve Moncur and Julie Ledger, Joyce Meier; also his beloved sister, Mable Haux; sister-in-law, Pat Meier; his grandchildren, Meghan Meier, Heather Meier, Jesse Meier, Jamie Summers, Bradley Ledger, Aaron Ledger and Logan Moncur; and one great-grand-daughter, Piper Christianson. He will be lovingly missed until we see him again in heaven. A celebration of his life will be anounced and held sometime in August. Friends may offer online condolences at www.wickenburgfuneralhome.com. Memorials to Casper Elks 1353 and Sun City West Hospice, 19702 N. Routzahn Way, Sun City West, AZ 85375-5799 are appreciated.
