Joe H. Murdock, 68, of Williamsfield, IL and Wickenburg, AZ passed away in Wickenburg on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 due to complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Joe was born April 20, 1944 the son of Jim and Mary Gibbs Murdock. Joe grew up in the community of Williamsfield, IL. He attended Parsons College, where he met his wife Ann Dworak. They were married on October 15, 1966 in Canton, IL. He is survived by his wife Ann; son Lance (Angie) Murdock of New Lenox, IL; daughters Joann (Rick) Howerton of Williamsfield, IL and Stefanie (Troy) Kindle of Roselle, IL; six grandchildren AJ, Jake and McKenzie Murdock, Curtis Howerton and Jakob and Logan Kindle; a brother James (Louise) Murdock of Galesburg, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Mary Murdock, sister Mary Ann Graves and grandparents Lance and Ava Gibbs. Joe worked at Ascarco/Midland Coal Company in Victoria, IL for 11 years while starting his farming career in Williamsfield. He managed and worked his grain and livestock operation until 1996 when he retired from farming. Joe then worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria, IL for 10 years before retiring all together. Joe was active in the Williamsfield Area Development Council, past President and member of the Knox County Farm Bureau and Lifetime NRA Member. Joe enjoyed wood working, ATV riding in the deserts of Arizona, and had an extreme passion for backyard sales. A Memorial Mass will take place at on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10 am at St. James Catholic Church, 111 S. Olive St., Williamsfield, IL with gravesite interment to follow at Williamsfield Cemetery. A visitation reception will follow at Williamsfield American Legion Norman Hall. Donations can be made in Joe's name to St. James Catholic Church, Building Fund, PO Box 199, Brimfield, IL 61517.
