Leslie Kenneth Farmer, 83, went to Heaven on Feb. 24, 2012. He was born June 30, 1928 to Charles A. and Florence (Pullen) Farmer in Bonne Terre, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Patricia (Lix) Farmer. The couple has three children, Linda Roush of Mack, Colorado, Leslie Dale Farmer of Chandler, Arizona and Kenneth Ray Farmer of Tempe, Arizona and 6 grandchildren: Tricia Shoaf of Pueblo, Colorado, Leslie Michelle Raney of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Charles Roush of Loma, Colorado, Richard Roush of Grand Junction, Colorado, K.C. Farmer of Silverthorne, Colorado, Robert Farmer of Mesa, Arizona, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by parents and sister, Jeanette Lowther. His occupations were many starting work for Mo.-Pac. Railroad Co. in DeSoto, Mo. And then as a miner and electrician for Climax Molybdenum Co. in Colorado. He later started his own construction Company doing mainly excavation and road construction, and trucking. He bought land in between the towns of Frisco and Breckenridge, Colorado at the edge of Lake Dillon, building a convenience store, mobile home park, two commercial buildings and a home. The area is named Farmer's Corner. Les was a charter member of the Rocky Mountain Southern Baptist Church in Rifle, Colorado, where he helped construct the church. He belonged to Breckenridge Masonic Lodge A.F.& A.M. #47 in Breckenridge, Colorado. He also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star #69 and served as Rainbow Dad to the Rainbow Girls. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, traveling and prospecting for gold in several states as a member of the Lost Dutchman's Mining Association. Les and wife, Pat, moved to Wickenburg, AZ in 2001 and attended the Southern Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church, 360 Yavapai St. Wickenburg, AZ with Pastor Dean Stanley officiating on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Les' memory to Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.
