Lester R. Fletcher, age 87, passed away June 19, 2012. He was born March 27, 1925 in Beatrice, NE to Lloyd R. and Grace Fletcher. Lester was a resident of Congress, AZ for 23 years and was a member of the Bahai Faith. He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Lester retired from the Santa Fe Railroad position of Roadmaster in September 1973. He also was with the State of Nebraska Public Service Commission in Lincoln, NE as State Railroad Track Safety Inspector. Lester was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Charlotte, in 2011. He is survived by brother L. Dean (Donna) Fletcher, Lincoln, NE., Ione Henderson (Charles), Johnstown, CO., Nephews Dave Fletcher, Sgt. Bluff, IA., Steve Milke, Arvada CO., Jason Milke, Erie, Co., Niece Cathy Fletcher Jensen, Lincoln, NE., Step-daughter Lilly Starr (Norman) Chicago, IL, and Stepson Tracey Ginn, 7 Step-grandchildren and special friend Brenda Newell of Congress. Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 23rd at Wickenburg Funeral Home and Crematory with Internment in the Congress Cemetery.
