Lois Kennedy

Lois E. Kennedy passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009. She was born February 24, 1929 in Stady, ND, the daughter of Maurice and Edna Montgomery. Lois grew up in the area and graduated from Williston High School in 1946. After high school she met and married Howard Kennedy on June 7, 1949. Lois and Howard lived in many places throughout their 60 year marriage - Williston, ND, Great Falls, MT, Fargo, ND, Wayzeta, MN, Overland Park, KS, Burley, ID, Bullhead City, AZ, and the last 21 years in Wickenburg, AZ. They have also spent their last 51 summers at their home on Big Bull Island on Flathead Lake, Polson, MT. Lois is survived by her loving husband Howard, and her two children, Kevin (Linda) - Basehor, KS and Coleen Nelson Kennedy - Great Falls, MT. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Christopher Kennedy (Sarah) - Olathe, KS, Justin Kennedy - New York City, NY, Cole Nelson - Great Falls, MT, Brandee Nelson - Great Falls, MT, one great grandhild, Owen Kennedy - Olathe, KS and a sister, Janis Rossell (Charles) - Great Falls, MT. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dwight Montgomery and Roger Montgomery. A celebration of her life was held Sunday, October 18, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church. The family request memorials be sent to the church, 180 N. Adams Street, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be missed not only by her family but also by dear friends she met along the way.
