Marcella Ballard

Marcella Joann Ballard passed away June 7, 2011. She was born May 30, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles Burton and Lucille Byers Burton. She was raised in Des Moines and married Norman J. Ballard January 3, 1953 in Des Moines and they made their home there. She worked as a caregiver but was primarily a mother and homemaker. Marcella and Norman moved to Wickenburg in 1989. She was a very active member of the Wickenburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Norman in 2006. She is survived by 7 daughters: Joann Dedrick of Peoria, AZ, Debby Torres (Frank) and Carol Green (Bob) both of Des Moines, Iowa, Judy Ballard of Youngtown, AZ, Barbara Stewart (Kent) of Des Moines, Diane Ostrander (Matt) of Surprise, Kathy Mumma (Rob) of Des Moines, brother Ronald Burton and sister Lourella Trujillo both of Chariton, Iowa, 34 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wickenburg Funeral Home with Funeral Services to be held on Friday, June 10th at 4:00 P.M. at the Wickenburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 970 N. Tegner St. in Wickenburg with interment to follow in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.
