Marjorie Houg Michaelson Born May 31 1922 - Died March 6 2014. Marge had a pioneering spirit and led an adventurous life. A young woman from the rural town of Exeland, WI, she took off on her journey by becoming one of the first air hostesses for Trans World Airline. After WWII she married Kent W. Michaelson and moved to southern California. She lived several places, including Las Vegas, NV, Wickenburg, AZ and Peoria, AZ. She traveled widely. As a person she was one of the most stubborn people on the planet! She wasn't perfect, but the following are the traits that attracted people of all types and ages to this extraordinary human being. As an educator, she showed by example how to explore the world with open minded enthusiasm. As a woman she paved the way for her daughters' generation by proving that females were intelligent and vital components in both the workplace and the community. As a friend she shared both her warmth and wit and a strong shoulder to lean on. As a wife she was a faithful companion and an effervescent hostess. As a mother she will be missed greatly both as a friend and beloved mentor. Marge was preceded in death by her parents George and Katherine Houg and her sister, Katherine. She is survived by her three daughters, R.J., Lisa and Amy along with Amy's husband Billy Dee Holloway, their daughter, Nicole and her husband Jonathan Cottrell and their three children, Riley, Tolan and Beckett. A funeral mass will be said at St. Anthony's Church in Wickenburg, AZ on Friday March 14, 2014 at 10:00am. Internment following the mass. In lieu of flowers, Mom would prefer a donation to help place a memorial flagpole in her hometown park.
