Mitchell Oney

February 1, 1936 — October 12, 2020

Mitchell Oney, 84, of Wickenburg, Arizona formerly of Greenwich, OH died on Oct. 12, at his home with his wife Shirley Goldsmith Oney at his side.



He was born Feb. 1, 1936 to Fred & Wanda Oney in Greenwich, OH. He graduated from Greenwich High School and then attended Ohio State University. Mitchell served his Country in the U.S. Army. He became a full-time farmer and also worked tirelessly for NASA Plumbrook, Ohio Body and South Central School from which he retired in 2000.



He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg. In his free time Mitch enjoyed searching for prized antiques, Square & Line dancing, watching NASCAR, with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver. While in Arizona Mitchell watched the Arizona Diamondback Baseball Team. Mitch will be remembered fro his quick wit, story telling and his compassionate spirit.



He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Oney of Wickenburg, AZ, brothers: Alfred, Gerald and Raymond all of Greenwich, and Gordon of North Fairfield, OH and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mitchell was preceded in death by his brother Larry Oney of New London, OH and infant brother Ronald.



At Mitchell's request there will be no visitation or services. His wish would be that friends and family would remember him in the own way or in a contribution to the First Presbyterian Church at 180 N. Adams St. Wickenburg, AZ 85390 or to donate to the charity of choice.
