Nancy Delon Jones, 67, of Wickenburg, AZ, formerly of Peoria, IL, died on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Banner University Medical Center.
Nancy was born on February 9, 1957, in Elmhurst IL, to Nat Gordon Goodwin and Wanda Belle Goodwin. She spent her early childhood living in Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. She spent her High School years in Schaumburg, IL. Nancy went to college at Iowa State University in Ames, IA, and graduated with a B.F.A. in Interior Design. There, she also met her future husband, Steven David Jones. She married Steven Jones on July 14, 1979. She and Steven moved to Peoria, IL soon after. Together, Nancy and Steven enjoyed 41 beautiful years together.
Nancy raised her family on Woodford Way in Metamora, IL, where she and her husband lived for over 30 years. During much of that time, Nancy worked for OSF Children's Hospital. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and Junior Women's Club in Metamora, IL. Nancy also kept busy with many home improvement projects: interior design of her home, as well as her family's church, Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington, IL. Nancy and her husband also later enjoyed becoming members of the Fire Rock Cowboy Church of Wickenburg, AZ, where they moved for retirement. Nancy was a motorcycling and aviation enthusiast and earned both a motorcycle license and a pilot license, both of which she used for many years after.
Nancy was a deeply caring, joyful, fearless, and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Joanna Bailey (Fernando) Jones of Wickenburg, AZ; her son, David Albert Jones of Corvallis, OR; her brother, Rex B. (Sara) Goodwin of Clovis, CA; brother-in-law, Guy Thomas (Sharon) Jones of Palm Desert, CA; a niece, Fallon M. (Michael) Martinez and children Nathaniel, Daniel, and Milania; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her oldest brother, Scott Gordon Goodwin; parents, Nat Gordon Goodwin and Wanda Belle Goodwin; her husband, Steven David Jones, and her grandson Steven Ronald Seber.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday May 25, 1:00PM at Wickenburg Funeral Home, 187 N Adams St, Wickenburg, AZ 85390.
