Paul E. Lawrence passed away at his home in Wickenburg, Arizona on Monday, November 15, 2010. He was born February 19, 1919 in Burwood, Tennessee to Henry Thomas Lawrence and Nancy Katherine Norman Lawrence. Paul moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in 1951 and after many visits to Wickenburg he moved here in 2002. Paul's talents an abilities were many. He was an all around Cowboy leading pack trips, catering for western barbeques, and a blacksmith and a horseshoer, but he also was an artist, jewelry maker, and a welder. Paul played the fiddle and guitar with country bands in Tennessee, Idaho and Wyoming. He also made fiddles. He won awards for his fiddle playing and chili cooking. In the military service, during World War II, he was an airplane mechanic. His parents and his brother Ray preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons Paul D. Lawrence of Reno, Nevada and Larry R. Lawrence of Tucson, Arizona and his niece Mary J. Lawrence of Spring Hill, TN. and great nieces Jadie, Juli and Jessica. He was a friend to many, never met a stranger and enjoyed entertaining. His eyes still sparkled even at the age of 91. Paul will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held February 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Wickenburg Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Stanley officiating.
