Peter Relyea, 83, passed away in Peoria, Arizona on December 27, 2013 with his wife of 62 years, Helen Relyea, by his side. Peter and Helen lived in Aguila at Eagle Roost Airpark for 34 years. While holding Peter's hand, Helen remembered when she and Peter got married. Members of Helen's family did not believe that their marriage would last, but 62 years later, Helen gently kisses Peter on the forehead as he falls asleep. Peter was born July 10, 1930 in Oakville, Connecticut. Peter and Helen married on May 19, 1951 at the Hotel Elton in Waterbury, Connecticut and raised four children in Wolcott, Connecticut. Peter was the owner of X-Tra Beverages, a soft drink company, in Wolcott with help from his wife and four children. Peter is preceded in death by his mother Lillian Race Relyea, father Morris A. Relyea, and sister Alice Relyea Booker. He is survived by his wife, Helen, and four children -- Stephen Relyea, Diane Linn, Johanna Weir, and Paul Relyea; eight grandchildren -- Kevin Linn, Kimberly Linn, and Mike Relyea of Arizona, Christopher Relyea, Megan Relyea, and Jennifer Relyea of Connecticut, and Travis Relyea and Bryan Relyea of Texas, and several great-grandchildren.
