Richard E. Pendergast was born July 16, 1933 in Elmira, New York to Raymond Ernest Pendergast and Alverta Entz Pendergast. He served in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. Following his military service he pursued his education and attained a Masters degree in Education. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Richard is survived by his wife Edna of Surprise and Children: Raymond E. Pendergast (Erin) of Vancouver, Washington, David G. Pendergast (Melissa) of Plain City, Utah, Jeffrey Pendergast (Mindy) of N.Ogden, Utah, Lawrence E. Pendergast (McKell) of Ridgewood, New Jersey, and Betsy Holladay (Hardy) of Surprise, Arizona, Sisters Rae Ann Crum (Thomas) of Bellvue, Nebraska, Janice Farnsworth (Richard) of Elmira, New York and 18 grandchildren.
