Robert Fredericks

Robert P. Fredericks was born on March 17, 1934 to Robert M. Fredericks and Lorraine M. (Henning) Fredericks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he grew up and received his education. He joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served in Korea through 1956. He was a member of the 319th Fighter Interceptor Squadron. After completing his service in 1956, he met and married Donna Hershberger, their marriage taking place on January 20, 1962, and they settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They raised two sons, Mark Steven Fredericks born in 1962 and Robert Sean Fredericks born in 1964. While raising his children, he worked for United Airlines, where he was eventually promoted to Supervisor, and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. Their family moved to Burlington, Wisconsin in 1972 and lived there until 1988, when they moved to Wickenburg, Arizona. After getting settled here, he became a member of the Wickenburg American Legion Post 12. He also volunteered at the Wickenburg High School, where he restarted and taught the automotive program, teaching students valuable mechanic and automobile maintenance skills. He also owned a mountain home in White Mountain Lake, Arizona, where he and his wife, Donna, spent their summers. He passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in his mountain home. He is survived by his wife, Donna Hershberger Fredericks, his sons, Mark Steven Fredericks and Robert Sean Fredericks, his daughters-in-law, Deb Fredericks and Mary K Fredericks and his granddaughters, Samantha Megan Fredericks and Kara Taylor Fredericks. Funeral services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Wickenburg Funeral Home with visitation 1 hour prior to services. The family suggests memorial can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
