Robert Gilbert Zobel May 10th, 1942 - March 31, 2010 Robert Gilbert Zobel Bob passed away Wednesday morning, March 31st at age 67, at home in Yarnell, AZ. Born in Sioux Falls, SD to Ralph and Vernice Zobel, Bob grew up on their farm in Brooten, MN with big sister Gloria and later joined the U.S. Army at age 17 to serve in Germany. He returned to marry Marvelyn Hedtke-Zobel who shares three boys together, Trent, Jeff and Tim. Migrating to Arizona through Colorado and California, Bob worked as railroad switchman, truck driver, building foreman, project manager as well as an entertainer throughout. Divorced and later remarried in 1994 to Judy Hoffman- Zobel and remained till his passing. Bob retired Public Works Director, City of Surprise in 2004 and moved from Wickenburg to his home in Yarnell. Bob was known for many other accomplishments in his life to include Farming, Ranching, Horseman, contractor in earthmoving and gold mining as well as country singer/entertainer who recorded in the 60's. He has touched the lives of many throughout his own life. His family and friends miss him dearly and hold countless stories and memories of his friendship. "As his Son, I will always remember him in his heyday, Dirt roads, rough shaven, horseback riding "Jake" followed everywhere by his dog "Sharon" packin' a Winchester 30/30 and a cold Beer from his saddle bags with a big straw hat. Dad is counted as a great friend, husband, Dad and Grandpa who agreeably was best described somewhere between James Dean and John Wayne. Certainly A big man among men with a personality larger than life. We sure do miss you and love you Grandpa! God bless you." Bob is survived by His wife Judy Zobel, first wife Marvelyn Zobel, Sons Trent, Jeff and Tim, Step daughter Michelle, Grandkids Austin, Brent, Casey, Lexi, Sage, Wyatt Huckleberry and Josh, Sister Gloria, Nieces and Nephew's Lisa, Mark, Todd, Steven and Melissa.
