Roy Kenneth Stoddard, age 79, passed away February 19, 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona. Roy was born in Denver, Colorado February 21, 1932. He was raised there and attended schools there. He later served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Following his military service he began working for Union Carbide as a bookkeeper. Roy also played professional football with the Denver Broncos in the NFL for a time. After his football career he began working in professional golf. He opened a golf Pro shop in Broomfield, Colorado and was also involved in golf course design. In Roy's later life he transported custom trailers to various locations throughout the country. Roy and Doris came to Wickenburg in 2002 where they retired. He was preceded in death by wife, Doris in 2006. Roy is survived by his adopted son William Stoddard of Texas and grandsons, Marshall and Kyle both of Colorado. Sisters Sharon Wilson and Kathryn Hart also of Colorado, brother in law Harold Lloyd of Aguila, Az and nephews Erik Lloyd and Alex Lloyd as well as sister in law Rosie Lloyd. No formal services were scheduled as per Roy's request.
