Ruth Suzanne Mills, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died peacefully February 1st surrounded in love by her children. She passed from this world on a beautiful Arizona day in her adopted town of Wickenburg, Arizona. Susie so loved Wickenburg, for the weather of course, but also for its people. Susie was very active in her community and made many wonderful friends there. She volunteered frequently with the Wickenburg Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Dell Webb Center for the Performing Arts, and Hassayampa River Preserve. Susie was born March 17th, 1935, in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from Colorado State University in 1956. She then married, and made a fine home in Colorado while raising five children. Following her divorce in 1977, Susie rediscovered herself and put her amazing intellect and heart to work. At the age of 46, she returned to college, graduated from nursing school and began a career as a traveling nurse. It was during these travels, she discovered and fell in love with Wickenburg. Susie practiced nursing for almost 20 years, touching countless patients with her love and tenderness. Susie was an avid reader and photographer. She loved to travel within the United States and abroad, and if you challenged her to a game of scrabble, you had better bring your "A" game. She is survived by 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, all of whom will miss her greatly.
