Stephen R. Bird, II joined his Heavenly Family January 6, 2011. He was a delight to all who knew him and his infectious laugh and sense of humor will be missed by all. He was born in Wheat Ridge, Colorado on October 12, 1967 to Stephen and Jan Bird. In March 1968 his family moved to Boulder City, Nevada. He spent the remainder of his life in the Boulder City, Las Vegas, and Phoenix areas until relocating to Wickenburg in February 2009 to devote his time as a care-giver to his father Stephen. He was accomplished welder, mechanic, and heavy equipment operator. Fishing was his first passion. He was also an amateur radio operator, WA7LHZ, who aspired to follow his father's (WS7R) footsteps. 73, son and I will see you in Heaven someday for and un-ending QSO. He was predeceased by his mother Jan in 2005. He is survived by his father Stephen, his sister and her husband Cheryl and Gregory Nelson of Surprise, Arizona, and their identical twin daughters Emily and Madison. He is also survived by Cheryl's children by her first husband, Gregery and Christian. Gregery and his wife Nicole live in Surprise and have a daughter Cali born October 17, 2010. Christian resides in El Mirage. Stephen also has 2 sons by previous marriages, Benjamin and Shane. A memorial service will be officiated over by Pastor Dean Stanley of the First Southern Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Wickenburg Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made in Stephen's name to your favorite charity. He was a great lover of small animals, dogs, cats, and all desert reptiles.
