Tim Ogle

Surrounded by family, Tim Z Ogle, 88, passed away in his sleep on August 16th, 2024 in Surprise, AZ.

    Son of Marita L Ogle and Merle F Ogle, he was born June 27, 1936 in Greeley, CO. He graduated Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, AL in 1954 and then graduated with a BS from the University of Colorado in 1958. He entered the Air Force as an officer via the ROTC program and was a Captain/fighter pilot for 6 years, specializing in flying F100s and stationed at Cannon AFB and others with Itazuke Air Base, Japan his favorite.

    Tim loved to fly and trained to become a commercial airline pilot with United Airlines beginning in 1965 and then later flying with Continental in 1966. Serendipitously, he crossed paths with Sherry M Beam, in 1965 who also worked for Continental Airlines as a flight attendant. After a lengthy engagement of three weeks, they got married in October, 1965😊 In February 1969, they welcomed their only child, Monte Z Ogle. In 2024, they celebrated 58 years of marriage!

    Tim flew with Continental from 1966 to 1984, spent short terms with Pride Air and McClain Airlines, and then flew for America West Airlines until his retirement on 6/27/1996. During this period, home was in Littleton, CO with a summer home in Bigfork, MT. Tim was an avid fly fisherman, taught by his father, who many consider to be one of the 'fly fishing greats'. Both, could tell fishing stories with the best of them, making up facts as needed and catching Rainbow Trout by the dozens😊

    After joining America West Airlines, Tim and Sherry relocated to Arizona. Golfing became the favorite past time. In CO and AZ, Sherry began managing pro shops. Tim and Sherry identified some deficiencies with how these retail pro shops were being managed, and endeavored to create and launch OTBW (Open to Buy Wizard) software, which would assist retail shop managers in properly buying/selling/managing their inventory. Tim continued to run OTBW until 2023, when he retired for a second time.

    He was preceded to heaven by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Sherry M Ogle and by his sister Rita O Summers He is survived by his son, Monte Z Ogle and wife Kandie R Ogle, his grandchildren Justin Dobbs, Arron Dobbs, Ethan Z Ogle, Dylan Z Ogle and all of his great grandchildren...all of whom will miss him dearly.

    TIM'S STATEMENT OF FAITH: I believe in the Holy Trinity as it is explained in the Word of God; that is Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. I believe in His plan of salvation for all those who accept his sacrificial gift of eternal life. I believe the most important choice any of us will ever make is our spiritual hereafter, and I have made that choice by the simple act of confessing my sins to my creator and accepting Jesus as my Savior. I believe God's promises and claim them with utmost gratitude. As you read this, know that I am already in the presence of Almighty God. My most heartfelt prayer as I write this is that those of you who loved me on earth will have that same assurance and, if you haven't already done so, that you make the choice now.
