William Fagan Gross, PhD. Born June 2, 1917, passed peacefully on January 18, 2012 at his home in Morristown, Arizona. After he graduated from Lehigh University with a PhD. in Chemical Engineering, he pursued his career with Arabian-American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia, rising to the rank of Chief Corrosion Engineer. Upon returning to the United States he continued his career working at Binks Research and Development as a Production Manager, in Boulder, Colorado, until he retired to his desert home in Morristown, Arizona. He authored two monographs on paint and protective coatings and he received many patents in the area of corrosion engineering. He loved traveling; touring Europe and other parts of the world several times, and many automobile trips in the United States. His interests included coin collecting, and collecting Native-American arts. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary nell, three children: Kathy Dugan, Bill Gross and Richard Gross, four grandchildren: Julia Dugan, Daniel Dugan, Anteas Gross and Andrew Gross and one great-grand child, Aiden Dugan.
